At Regions, the Enterprise Architect oversees multiple dimensions of assigned applications and/or capabilities including but not limited to stability, life cycle management, version control, design and development of technology solutions, mapping of business requirements to capability-oriented technical requirements, and ensuring technology solutions to business needs are developed in accordance with the enterprise architectural roadmap, guidelines, and standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Manages end-to-end from conception through delivery into production of enterprise architectures
Partners with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions
Leads the design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of projects
Designs both the physical and logical components of solution architectures that will deliver a positive business outcome
Collaborates with other domain architects to provide a consensus-based scalable and adaptable architectural solution
Oversees technical analysis and design capabilities
Facilitates technology design workshops for emerging technologies
Validates designs produced by third-party vendors wishing to sell solutions to the organization
Aligns Information Technology strategy and planning with the companys business goals and objectives
Promotes the use of a shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve how information flows
Collaborates on roadmaps to align Information Technology priorities with business partner requirements and strategies
Builds and maintains technical trusted advisor relationships with influential technical decision makers within Technology
Works with Portfolio technology leaders to include technical debt initiatives to portfolio roadmap
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field and (5) years of enterprise, solutions, and/or technical architecture experience
Experience of N-tier architectures and complex design architectures
Experience with technical, application, and information architecture delivery techniques and methodologies
Experience with Agile methods
Certifications/Licensures
Certifications in the technology domain of the enterprise
Skills and Competencies
Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
An understanding of, and ability to use, design patterns to steer business requirements into enterprise-wide technical strategies
Awareness and ability to document designs using internal and external notational standards (Business Process Model and Notation {BPMN}, Unified Modeling Language {UML})
Hands-on experience in one or more popular programming languages like Java, Go, C#, Rust, Python, etc.
Knowledge of security design techniques
Understanding the technology of the organization, e.g., Middleware, .NET, Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), Oracle, etc.
Working knowledge of modern Operating Systems (Linux/Windows), Networking, Servers/Mainframe, Secure Coding Practices, Development Environments (Java/.Net), Databases (DB2/Oracle/SQL Server)

The Enterprise Data Architect is a strategic and technical leader responsible for designing, governing, and evolving the enterprise data portfolio with alignment to industry-leading architecture and practices. This role ensures alignment between business goals and data capabilities by collaborating across business units, security, risk, engineering, cloud enablement, data science, and enterprise API governance teams. The architect will drive the development of scalable, secure, and intelligent data platforms, enabling advanced analytics, AI/ML, and generative AI use cases across the organization.
Additional Responsibilities
Define and evolve the enterprise-wide data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, data mesh, and data fabric. Develop and maintain a forward-looking data strategy aligned with business and digital transformation goals. Lead the design of cloud-native, API-driven, and event-driven data platforms.
Develop and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, including data modeling practices, data management standards, and industry best practices.
Design data integration solutions and processes, including ETL, to ensure seamless data flows across the organization.
Collaborate with cybersecurity architecture, cloud center-of-excellence, data engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
Stay current with emerging data technologies and platforms in data engineering and data science, evaluating and recommending solutions that meet architectural principles.
Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, data scientists, engineers, and API governance teams to co-create data-driven solutions. Translate business requirements into scalable and secure data solutions. Provide architectural oversight for enterprise data initiatives and modernization.
Partner with data science teams to support AI/ML data pipelines, feature engineering, model training & inference, and MLOps. Architect platforms for generative AI, LLMs, NLP, computer vision, and responsible AI. Ensure AI model governance and ethical use of AI technologies.
Preferred Skills/Experience
Proven ability to design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures across cloud and hybrid environments.
Expertise in defining data strategies, governance frameworks, and compliance policies to ensure data quality, integrity, and regulatory alignment.
Strong experience in data modeling, warehousing, and designing data lakes.
Hands-on knowledge of Data Mesh, Data Fabric, and API-driven architectures.
Proficiency in building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines, streaming data flows, and batch processing systems at scale.
Knowledge of DataOps practices for CI/CD in data engineering, including monitoring, testing, and deployment automation.
Deep understanding of data security, privacy, lineage, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud platforms and their data services.
Experience with data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, Delta Lake, Amazon Kinesis, and Athena.
Proficiency with streaming and messaging tools like Kafka, Flink, and Kinesis.
Experience with data transformation tools like Informatica, Talend, and dbt.
Familiarity with data governance tools like Collibra, Alation, and BigID.
Experience with query engines and databases such as Presto, Trino, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases.
Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-Learn.
Knowledge of vector databases and APIs for enterprise AI applications.
Experience designing and supporting ML pipelines and deploying AI models.
Knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, and enterprise AI use cases.
Understanding of deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and responsible AI practices.
Competence in MLOps, feature engineering, and AI governance.
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job-specific and provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors impacting pay include experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location, and performance. Pay will vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target compensation range for this role is:
Minimum: $120,156.85 USD
50th Percentile: $156,060.00 USD
