The County of San Diego is actively seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join their team as Associate Real Property Agent. The eligible list will be used to fill current and future vacancies in the Department of Public Works' Airport Division and the Department of General Services. Associate Real Property Agent is the journey-level class in the Real Property Agent class series. Incumbents in this class independently perform a wide range of professional and technical real property activities such as appraisal, acquisition, right-of-way, condemnation, property management, negotiation, sale, disposal, lease, relocation assistance, title review, and escrow processing. An Associate Real Property Agent that will be assigned at the County Airports will be assigned several real estate contracts to manage on behalf of County Airports. The agent is expected to review invoices monthly to confirm they are correct. The agent will be expected to understand the policies procedures that County of San Diego Airports follows as part of the greater airport system, along with FAA policies that govern how our airport system operates. While this is learned while on the job, previous experience working for an airport is highly desirable. The agent will process licenses, airport use permits as assigned by the Project Manager and work closely with their assigned supervisor on all their tasks until they have proven to be able to work more independently. The agent will work on other projects where they will help their supervisor to complete the more difficult tasks. They may be assigned to a small team of agents where they will research projects and work on other special projects as assigned by the Project Manager. The agent is expected to keep their tasks on a spreadsheet or software program to send to Project Manager and/ or supervisor to keep their supervisor and Project Manager updated on the projects they are working on. Minimum Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or certified foreign studies equivalency in real estate, business administration, public administration (urban planning emphasis), economics, or a closely related field; AND two (2) years of professional-level experience in performing at least one or several of the following functions: appraisal, acquisition, right-of-way, condemnation, property management, negotiation, sale, disposal, lease, relocation assistance, title review, and escrow processing; OR,
  • An associate's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in real estate, business administration, public administration (urban planning emphasis), economics, or a closely related field; AND four (4) years of professional-level experience in performing at least one or several of the functions listed above; OR,
  • Six (6) years of professional-level experience in performing at least one or several of the functions listed above; OR,
  • One (1) year of experience as an Assistant Real Property Agent with the County of San Diego.
