Position Summary Responsible for addressing all facility maintenance and cleanliness, maintaining the grounds, and transporting of food and supplies between sites. Job Description Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- At least one year experience of building maintenance
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Maintain valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
- Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations).
Role and Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean, stock and empty trash in the Summit shelter to include hallways, common areas, meeting rooms, restrooms, offices, and exited shelter rooms (at Shelter Manager's notification). Evaluate each room/area for any needed repairs and maintenance.
- Thoroughly clean, stock and empty trash in the Summit administrative office to include hallways, common areas, meeting rooms, restrooms and offices (at Facility Manager's notification).
- Maintain outside area of E Market Street property to include removing any ground litter and emptying exterior trash cans around the building including parking lots, kids play area, garden, sidewalks, and lawn.
- Assist Facilities Manager with maintaining adequate inventory of maintenance and janitorial supplies and communicate ordering needs in a timely manner.
- Complete preventative maintenance & repairs including painting, drywall, drop ceilings, appliances, furnaces, plumbing, electrical, or other interior and exterior items, as skills permit.
- Assist the Facilities Manager in determining and coordinating when facility needs maintenance or repairs by an outside contractor or repair service.
- Assist Facilities Manager with updating/maintaining records of acquisition/repairs of appliances, furniture and vehicles.
- Maintain tools, supplies, and equipment to maintain the grounds of each facility based on seasonal needs. Inform Facilities Manager for need of acquisition or replacement of tools.
- Pick up of food/supplies from the Akron-Canton Food Bank and other regularly scheduled donation pickups.
- Pick-up, unload, and disperse donations to/from the appropriate facility, as needed.
- Travel to other Hope & Healing facilities for work as needed.
- Participate in alternating on-call schedule and respond to after hours emergencies as needed.
- Complete documentation in a timely manner in accordance with the policies and procedures.
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
- Work cooperatively with other staff members and volunteers to ensure best practices in service delivery.
- Adheres to Service Excellence standards at all times.
- Represent Hope & Healing by participating in community activities, coalitions and taskforce groups as requested or assigned by supervisor.
- Complies with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, CARF standards and educational/certification/registry requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
