Job Description :

Job Summary: Participates in total direct patient care in a team approach. Has the ability to work therapeutically in a community of patients presenting with addictive and mental health disorders. Primary responsibilities include basic patient care and monitoring (including tasks such as medication observation, drug screens, vital signs). Conducts new patient orientation and discharging patient procedures. Completes corresponding medical record documentation of approved tasks (e.g., vital signs). Completes associated administrative/clerical tasks. Accompanies and monitors patients on off-campus outings. Maintains orderly work area. Observes patients and maintains patient safety, assists patients with activities of daily living, both physical and emotional, and assists with meeting team objectives. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Other duties and tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis. Engage in transporting patients to appointments or other activities as needed. Performance Expectations:

  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate clinically with staff within various roles.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients
  • Demonstrate proficiency in completing paperwork and other office duties in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate proficiencies in patient care tasks such as vital signs, medication observation, and urine drug screens.
  • Demonstrate the willingness and ability to actively participate in helping achieve the objectives of the department; able to work independently, as well as, with a team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to complete all required trainings and/or certifications and attend all required meetings.
  • Demonstrate healthy communication skills when dealing with patients and their family members.
  • Demonstrate the ability to welcome and orient new patients and discharge departing patients efficiently and with compassion.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be flexible with changing priorities; able to tolerate high stress situations/mental demands and make decisions that are ethically and legally sound.
Qualifications: Education/Skills Bachelor of Science degree in health related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Work Experience: Work experience, particularly in a health care setting, preferred but not required. Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
  • Valid Driver's License and good Standing Driving Record
Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below
  • Basic Life Support
Within 30 Days of Employment Required
  • Certificate of Completion of Defensive Driving Course.
Within 30 Days of Employment Required Mental Demands: Good verbal and written skills. Able to perform clinical/clerical tasks. Sensitive to needs of others and good interpersonal skills.
