Job DetailsJob Location CAC Brooksville - Brooksville, FL Position Type Full Time Education Level 2 Year Degree Salary Range $42000.00 - $52000.00 Salary/year DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for providing outreach and training in the community to identify new victims of abuse and provide and connect them to victim services. Public Service Loan Forgiveness Qualified Employer. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Facilitate and organize presentations to under-served populations, marginalized groups,and other community organizations whose composition includes individuals who may haveexperienced a past, unreported victimization. Presentations to include information definingacts which would constitute victimization, access to services to assist victims who haveexperienced such acts, assist in reporting to proper authorities, and support victims whoself-identify.
  • Facilitate and organize presentations to identify those victims of crime. Such presentations are to include: schools, after school programs, preschools, child care facilities, and other community organizations whose primary population is children.
  • Provide crisis intervention with adult and adolescent victims and their loved ones.
  • Provide team advocacy, service management, emotional support, outreach services and online support services to identified victims.
  • Provide victims information regarding their rights and options.
  • Attend community task forces and meetings to improve and increase services for victims.
  • Provide information and assistance, as needed, regarding Victim's Compensation.
  • Work collaboratively with all community agencies involved in the victim's recovery process. Report identified abuse, neglect, or abandonment as required by Florida Statute.
  • Enters information into the agency's automated data system, within 48 hours of the provision of any service. Ensures all information is entered timely, as well as accurately reporting to VOCA grant administrator.
  • Assist with administering participant satisfaction surveys that are used to evaluate the program.
  • Assist with gathering necessary information and completing monthly, quarterly and yearly reports.
  • Participate in performing tasks necessary to achieve program goals, and complete tasks by assigned date.
NON-ESSENTIAL/SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Performs any additional duties as directed or assigned by supervisor, management staff, program director or You Thrive Florida management staff. QualificationsJOB STANDARDS: Education: AS/AA degree in human services, sociology, or social work or AS/AA degree in related field and be willing to obtain Victim Practitioner designation within 6 months of employment. Experience may substitute for degree, Experience: Two years of experience in social services or other related field. Licenses & Certifications: Valid Florida driver's license and be insurable by Company's current carrier. Subject to Federal, Stateand Local legal requirements/background checks/clearance for working with vulnerable populations. CRITICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, & EXPERTISE: Physical Requirements:These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Talking, standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, use of fingers, arms, hands, legs, walking, stretching/reaching, handling, grasping, climbing, bending at the waist, turning, balancing, pushing, pulling, use of depth perception, carrying and lifting (up to 65 lbs.), and driving are constant. Good eyesight (correctable) and hearing (correctable) are essential. Equipment: Computer, facsimile, copy machine, calculator, multi-line phone and other small office and instructional equipment. Skills & Expertise: Ability to arrive to work daily and on time. Ability to work with limited direction. Knowledge of organization methods. Skill in completing work with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to establish effective working relationships with people, particularly parents and children. Ability to analyze and interpret data and human/family needs. Ability to use and operate a personal computer. Ability to work collaboratively with professionals, families and children. Knowledge of child abuse and prevention issues. Ability to maintain child and parent confidentiality. Ability to be reliable, responsible and accountable to job requirements. Knowledge of community and community programs/resources. ENVIRONMENTAL JOB FACTORS: Job Location: Children's Advocacy Center office in Hernando County and in the community. Travel involved. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am-6:00 pm, some evenings and weekend hours may be required. Work Environment: While performing the responsibilities of the position, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the employee will encounter. Office environment and working with others frequently. Working with office equipment is frequent. Occasionally outdoors and operates a vehicle.
