Job TitleClassificationSalary RangeDate Legacy Sports Coordinator Non-Exempt- Part Time $26-28hr 11/2024 DepartmentReports ToLocation Legacy Sports Legacy Sports Program Manager TCF Position Overview: The Legacy Sports Coordinator, reporting to the Legacy Sports Program Manager, plays a crucial role in supervising, coordinating, and enhancing the successful implementation of sports programs for student-athletes across various TCF locations. This role involves providing leadership support to Legacy Sports Coaches at multiple school sites, ensuring program excellence, fostering collaboration, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. Also manages day-to-day operations and provides leadership and guidance to sports coaches. The Legacy Sports Coordinator requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a passion for coaching and mentoring. Essential Responsibilities:Program Development, Implementation and Oversight:
  • Plan and organize team practices, drills, and game strategies, adapting coaching techniques to individual and team needs aligned with TCF values.
  • Provide leadership and direction to assistant coaches, including mentoring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with school site staff/administration to integrate sports program activities with the school day curriculum.
  • Maintain comprehensive written lesson plans, training schedules in alignment with TCF's sports program curriculum and expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Legacy Sports Program Manager and school site administration to recruit and enroll/unenroll students effectively.
Coaching and Supervision:
  • Lead and supervise coaching staff, including assistant coaches and trainers, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure effective coaching practices and player development.
  • Analyze athletes' and Sports Coaches strengths and weaknesses to identify areas for improvement and development.
  • Prepare athletes for competitions by developing game plans, strategies, and tactics.
  • Motivate and inspire athletes and Sports Coaches to reach their full potential and achieve their goals.
  • Maintain a safe and positive training environment that promotes sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork.
Behavior Management:
  • Set clear expectations for behavior and conduct within the program, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Implement appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary, following TCF program guidelines and protocols.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity, promoting acceptance and understanding among students.
  • implement a system of positive reinforcement to acknowledge and reward desired behaviors, including verbal praise, certificates, and tangible rewards.
  • Employ restorative practices that focus on repairing harm and restoring relationships in cases of conflicts or incidents, emphasizing accountability, empathy, and reconciliation.
Additional Responsibilities Fulfill any other duties as assigned by the supervisor, recognizing that the role may evolve to include new tasks introduced by the company. Job QualificationsMinimum Experience/Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years in Education/Nonprofit experience
  • Proven experience in program management, with a track record of successful program implementation.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have at least 48 semester college units or successful completion of the Paraeducator exam
  • TB test clearance
  • Must pass DOJ/FBI criminal background check
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Must have experience working with youth and general knowledge base of core elementary subjects.
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with staff, students, parents, and community partners
License/Certification/Clearance
  • Sexual Harassment Training Certificate *required
  • Mandated Reporter Training Certificate *required
  • First aid and CPR Certification *preferred
Physical Demands
  • Must have sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise children's activities including the ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be fit for frequent bending and standing.
