Improving Lives. Improving Communities. LRADAC offers a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs in both Lexington and Richland counties. We tailor our programs to meet the ever-changing needs of the communities we serve. Our prevention, intervention and treatment programs spread the message that there is hope and that substance misuse and addiction are preventable and treatable. In support of our purposes to improve communities, we are expanding our in-patient services beyond medical detoxification to reduce barriers to accessing necessary residential treatment for opioid-use and co-occurring substance use disorders by creating a new residential treatment program. This SCORF (South Carolina Opioid Recovery Fund) grant-funded Clinical Director plans, organizes, and leads the overall operation of LRADAC's Residential Treatment program, including a 3-5 day medically managed detoxification unit and a 30-day clinically managed residential program. The Director ensures compliance with regulatory standards and strives to meet the needs of a diverse and vulnerable patient population through an interdisciplinary team of medical and clinical staff. POSITION LOGISTICS
  • Full-time 37.5 hours a week
  • Schedule is routinely 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, but may include weekend and evening hours. Flex schedule available as approved by supervisor.
  • Grant-funded position with a June 30, 2026 end date. Position continuance contingent upon grant renewal.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's degree in a field related to clinical behavioral health is required.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in addiction treatment is required.
  • At least two (2) years working in a medical inpatient or residential setting is required.
  • At least two (2) years of management experience (responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals and discipline) is required.
  • All required experience may be concurrent.
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid SC driver's license.
  • Licensed in good standing in South Carolina as an LPHA.
  • Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC) - Clinical Supervisor, highly preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManagerial:
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the program, including adequate staffing coverage, scheduling, training, staff supervision, and 24-hour managerial support to the team.
  • Recruit, hire, orient, train and oversee staff providing patient care in a residential setting.
  • Provides individual and group supervision to interdisciplinary team members, including individualized and team coaching, skill-building, clinical observation, and follow-up.
  • Evaluates medical, clinical and operational functions to ensure safety, patient care, and compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures (e.g. service utilization, timely and appropriate placement, adherence to CARF and licensure standards, Infection Control Standards, Universal Precautions, medication management/education, etc.).
  • Assists in the development and implementation of education and intervention curricula using evidence-based and best practice techniques to direct team, and the agency at large, when appropriate.
  • Fosters a collaborative, high performing culture across teams resulting in a sense of shared ownership and mutual accountability.
Clinical Services:
  • Assesses, plans, coordinates, and evaluates the medical, clinical and operational functions of the program to ensure comprehensive, high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care is provided by an educated and competent team.
  • Encourages collaborative decision-making by facilitating open and ongoing communication between the interdisciplinary team, patients, and their families.
  • Approves clinical documentation and provides clinical supervision to staff assigned to the program.
  • Supervises compliance with billing requirements, including eligibility verification, prior and continued-stay authorizations.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to and focus on key performance indicators and long-term program sustainability.
Strategic Organizational Leadership
  • Serves as a role model in all aspects of job performance, professional communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborates with other LRADAC managers and directors to develop strategies around growth, integration, onboarding, and workstreams resulting in recommendations to the VP of Clinical Services in accordance with the agency/program goals and objectives.
  • Leads medical staff and clinical staff to coordinate seamless care coordination.
  • Develops and tracks continuous quality improvement metrics for monitoring, evaluating, and improving the program.
  • Reviews and responds, as appropriate, to patient surveys and complaints, using professional judgment, established policies and procedures, and teamwork to manage complex patient decisions.
  • Works closely with leadership to identify, manage and mitigate potential risk.
  • Actively participates in CQI and QA processes related to health/safety issues and the provision of quality and efficient service delivery, including periodic QA audits, developing and preparing reports.
  • Coordinates the development of the program's strategic objectives, exploring opportunities to expand or enrich services, and collaborates with agency leaders to incorporate objectives into the agency's overall strategic plan, including grant writing.
  • Represents the program and the agency to community providers and partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
