Job SummaryPosition Parent Organizer MAEF Public Charter Schools (MPCS) Mobile, Alabama Reports Directly to: Principal Salary: $18.50-20.00 an hour Position Overview: ACCEL Academy, recognized for its forward-thinking and progressive culture, seeks a Parent Organizer. This person is a community resident and/or parent with the primary responsibility of working with an assigned school's administration to promote and increase school parental involvement by providing model parent leadership, support, coordination, and information for the sustaining, creating, and implementation of school-based initiatives. Essential Functions:
  • Planning and executing monthly parenting workshops.
  • Executing all phases of parenting essential to assigned school.
  • Making appropriate home visits.
  • Motivating parents to become involved.
  • Attending community meetings as needed.
  • Maintaining telephone contact with parents.
  • Attending staff meetings regularly.
  • Submitting monthly reports with appropriate documentation forms.
  • Work with the school staff to address and resolve specific parent concerns.
  • Assist in outreach for activities and access the needs of parents.
  • Adherence to general program guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
  • Have great organizational skills and be task oriented.
  • Be able to adhere to scheduling; specific timelines.
  • Possess great oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities.
  • Exhibit flexibility in work hours.
  • Be a self-starter who is a team player.
  • Be comfortable visiting homes in the community of the assigned school.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Have a valid Alabama driver's license.
  • Show proof of automobile insurance.
  • Be a high school graduate or its equivalent.
Terms: Ten (10) month, 202-day contract with salary established by the Board in terms of the Administrative Provisions and based on experience and qualifications. Salary: $18.50- $20.00 an hour Benefits: Full-time employees receive health benefits through the Alabama Public Education Employees' Health Insurance Program (PEEHIP) and retirement benefits through the Alabama Teacher Retirement System.
