We are excited to announce we are hiring a full-time, Laboratory Supervisor at NY Pathology Lab in Pearl River, NY.

About the Role

The Laboratory Supervisor at NY Pathology Lab (NYPAT) plays a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the clinical laboratory to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant diagnostic testing. This position is responsible for managing laboratory personnel, coordinating workflow, and maintaining high standards of quality control and safety in accordance with regulatory requirements. The supervisor will lead efforts to optimize laboratory processes, troubleshoot instrumentation issues, and ensure proper specimen handling and preparation. Collaboration with healthcare professionals and laboratory staff is essential to support patient care through reliable laboratory results. Ultimately, the role ensures that the laboratory functions efficiently while upholding the highest standards of clinical excellence and regulatory compliance.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent credential.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory environment with hands-on experience in microbiology, chemistry, and coagulation testing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, sample preparation, and specimen processing techniques.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards applicable to clinical laboratories.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Advanced certification or training in specialized laboratory disciplines such as microbiology or coagulation.
  • Experience working in a high-volume pathology or hospital laboratory.
  • Knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) and data management.
  • Strong background in clinical chemistry instrumentation and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily laboratory activities including sample preparation, specimen processing, and testing procedures.
  • Manage and train laboratory staff to maintain proficiency in microbiology, chemistry, coagulation, and other clinical laboratory disciplines.
  • Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Implement and monitor quality control protocols to guarantee accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, laboratory accreditation standards, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to address testing needs and resolve any laboratory-related issues.
  • Prepare and review documentation, reports, and records related to laboratory operations and quality assurance.
