Compensation & Growth Union & Grade: Covered by SEIU, Grade 4. Step Progression: Competitive wage progression within the grade-rates increase with credited years of experience, up to $38.08 per hour at the top step. Impact Without Patient Care Although you won't provide direct patient care, your efforts directly enhance the healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff while you enjoy the island lifestyle. Essential Functions Grounds Equipment: Operate, clean, and maintain lawn mowers, snow blowers, leaf blowers, power sweepers, and other groundskeeping tools. Horticulture Care: Plant, water, trim, and prune flowers, shrubs, and small trees; maintain flower beds and boxes. Outdoor Upkeep: Mow lawns, weed, rake, hedge-trim, sweep walkways/parking lots, remove litter, and care for outdoor furniture. Inclement-Weather Support: Assist with indoor cleaning when needed and take an active role in snow removal and storm preparation. Safety & Emergency Response: Help ensure a safe physical plant; respond to fire alarms and assist emergency responders as required. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Must be able to read, write legibly, speak clearly and understand the English language. - Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion. - Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. - Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel and the general public. - Able to follow oral and written instructions. - Ability to read and speak English. - Must have a current driver's license. - Must have familiarity with hand and power tools. - Able to follow operational manuals and instructional manuals and instruction.
