Job DetailsResponsibilities of the Security Manager include:
- Supervise and direct daily activities of security officers to ensure optimal shift coverage and response readiness.
- Respond to and investigate incidents, disturbances, and emergency situations; escalate as necessary.
- Ensure thorough and accurate documentation of incidents, reports, and daily activity logs.
- Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises, including buildings, parking lots, and surrounding areas.
- Monitor access control systems and CCTV surveillance; identify and report suspicious behavior or breaches.
- Support hospital staff in de-escalating tense situations involving patients, visitors, or the public.
- Participate in staff training, shift briefings, and emergency preparedness drills.
- Liaise with law enforcement, emergency responders, and hospital administration during incidents.
- Enforce hospital security protocols, including ID checks, visitor policies, and restricted area access.
- Support the development and enforcement of departmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct Fire Safety Drills
Qualifications for the Security Manager include:
- Valid NYS Security License and/or Active duty law enforcement required.
- Valid New York State driver's license with a clean driving record.
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association required.
- Previous Law Enforcement experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in report writing and incident documentation.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing over 25 pounds.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of security surveillance systems (CCTV) and access control systems.
- Proven experience in verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques.
- Familiarity with hospital safety standards, protocols, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, Joint Commission) preferred.
Posted Salary Range USD $35.00 - USD $41.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
