Job Description FlexStaff is seeking a full-time Orthotic Fitter to join our client's team at their New Haven location. This role will include inventory control and ordering plus assisting patients in being fit with off-the-shelf orthotic devices such as braces, supports, and other orthopedic equipment. This is a perfect position for someone interested in a healthcare career who enjoys hands-on work with patients in a clinical setting. Opportunities for growth and the ability to become certified as a Orthotic Fitter which would include compensation change. Responsibilities:
  • Assist with fitting and adjusting prefabricated orthotic devices under the supervision of a certified clinician
  • Educate patients on proper use, care, and wear schedules for orthotic devices
  • Support clinical staff with patient intake, documentation, and follow-up care
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care and fitting areas
  • Ensure inventory and supplies are adequately stocked and organized
  • Collaborate with clinicians and administrative staff to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Will be on call every 3rd or 4th weekend of the month, pay differential will be offered for on call hours
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Willingness to learn and work as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to lift, carry, and position orthotic equipment and assist patients as needed
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is a plus but not required
Preferred Backgrounds (not required):
  • Athletic Trainers (ATC)
  • Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA)
  • Physical Therapy Aides
  • Graduates or students of Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or related fields
