  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years technical school preferred
  • Three (3) years experience required
  • Valid Georgia driver's license
  • Performance Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Maintain and operate, in a safe and responsible manner, all equipment required to cut and trim grass and shrubbery.
    • Do re-seeding, grassing and fertilizing of lawn areas as required.
    • Clean out and maintain storm drains as needed.
    • Perform light fill and grading in leveling and erosion prevention.
    • Use of pesticides and other sprays in the control of vegetation and pests.
    • Maintain operator permit necessary in the performance of assigned duties.
    • Routine lifting of weight in the 25-50 lb. range.
    • Routine lifting of extension ladders.
    • Routine seat time on mowing/grounds equipment averaging 4-6 hours daily and 20 - 30 hours weekly.
    • Perform as utilityman in other tasks as required.
    • Other duties as assigned by executive director or any maintenance supervisor.
    Other Functions: Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met. Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 65% sitting, 25% walking/standing and 10% lifting/carrying.
