RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility. Mechanical Design Engineer As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the design, development, and improvement of mechanical components and systems. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys hands-on design work, problem-solving, and working collaboratively across disciplines. The successful candidate will lead mid-to-large engineering projects, contribute to new product development, and support manufacturing and quality efforts. Responsibilities
- Design mechanical parts and systems using CAD software like SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor.
- Run basic engineering simulations and analyses (stress, thermal, tolerance, etc.).
- Lead mid-to-large engineering projects with minimal supervision.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, models, and documentation.
- Choose materials and processes to meet performance and cost goals.
- Work with other engineering teams to ensure systems work together correctly.
- Support product testing and help analyze test results.
- Solve mechanical issues found during development or production.
- Help guide and mentor junior engineers on design and process best practices.
- Follow engineering and industry standards (ASME, ISO, UL, etc.).
- Inspect parts during production and document any quality issues.
- Suggest ways to improve designs or manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in mechanical design and development.
- Skilled in 3D CAD modeling and basic simulation tools.
- Familiar with different manufacturing processes like machining, molding, and 3D printing.
- Knowledge of drawing standards and GD&T.
- Good problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Experience leading projects or mentoring others is a plus.
