Job Description :

Objective: At Home Instead, our Care Professionals deliver essential non-medical services that empower seniors to stay in the comfort of their homes. Our aim is to improve the quality of life for seniors while providing them and their families with compassionate support as they navigate the challenges of aging.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Embody the core value of compassion and care through attributes such as Patience, Kindness, Humility, Selflessness, Respectfulness, Forgiveness, Honesty, and Commitment.
  • Create a positive and supportive living environment to enhance the client's well-being.
  • Keep accurate records of daily activities and report any significant changes in a client's needs or living conditions.
  • Maintain open communication with your supervisor and office staff.
  • Provide Companionship & Home Helper services, including:
    • Engaging in meaningful conversations and companionship activities.
    • Assisting with walking and stabilization.
    • Meal preparation and kitchen clean-up.
    • Offering medication and appointment reminders.
    • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning.
    • Doing laundry, including washing and ironing.
    • Running errands and accompanying clients to appointments.
  • Deliver Personal Care services that may include:
    • Assisting clients with bathing and grooming.
    • Supporting with toileting and incontinence care.
  • Offer Specialized services which may encompass:
    • Advanced care for clients with Alzheimer's/Dementia.
    • End-of-life hospice care.
  • Utilize the home care tablet (if applicable) to:
    • Enhance client connections through photo sharing, video calls, games, and daily activities.
    • Facilitate communication with the office through video calls and check-ins.
    • Connect with other Care Professionals using designated apps.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Complete all required training, including online modules and in-service workshops.
  • Participate in company-sponsored training sessions, staff meetings, and social events.
  • Report hours in accordance with office policies and promptly communicate any scheduling changes.
  • Engage in ongoing satisfaction surveys to assess and improve service quality.
  • Document client information meticulously in client binders.
  • May include errands and incidental transportation for clients using your vehicle or theirs.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Potential Schedules: We operate 24/7, providing flexible shift options, including overnight hours.

Essential Job Requirements: To qualify, candidates must meet the education, experience, and skills necessary for both primary and secondary responsibilities.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be able to drive or use public transportation to reach client locations.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed.
  • Possess a valid driver's license or state ID and valid auto insurance (if applicable).
  • Ability to endure exposure to common household elements, and to treat clients with dignity and respect.
  • Must be adaptable to various living environments and able to communicate warmly with clients.
