Posting Details Position Information Position Title Admission Counselor - Transfer Programs Job Responsibilities The Office of Admission at Truman State University seeks a self-motivated, passionate, and dynamic individual to serve as the Admission Counselor for Transfer Programs. The Admission Counselor will have primary responsibility for recruiting new transfer students and preparing the rest of the recruitment team for meetings with transfer students. The Admission Counselor for Transfer Programs will help implement a collaborative student-centered recruitment plan which may include a combination of travel to community colleges for fairs and visits, individual meetings with prospective students, ongoing personal communication, facilitation of special transfer student outreach efforts, and assistance with coordination of transfer-specific aspects of the application, enrollment, and orientation processes. Responsibilities
- Manage transfer recruitment.
- Manage communication with students, families, and community college personnel.
- Represent Truman State University at recruitment events on and off campus.
- Meet with prospective students and families during visits to Truman State University. Meetings may occur in either individual or group settings and in both physical and virtual settings.
- Participate in file review of applications and recommend decisions to the admissions committee.
- Establish and maintain relationships with community colleges.
- Utilize enrollment and communication software in support of enrollment goals.
- Use data to make informed decisions.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree.
- High level of personal motivation, innovation, and enthusiasm for working in a team environment.
- Exceptional oral presentation skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel regionally and work flexible hours including nights and weekends, travel consists of up to 10 weeks per year.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous recruitment or sales experience.
- Experience with Technolutions Slate.
- Ability to stand for up to 3 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
