Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations, the Bus Monitor will accompany students in grades K-10 to and from designated CCA bus stops. This role is critical to the safety, supervision, and spiritual encouragement of our students during transit. Monitors will ride morning and/or afternoon routes, ensuring a secure environment and modeling Christ-like behavior. A heart for ministry and a passion for nurturing students is essential. The Bus Monitor must have a strong, active, and committed relationship with Jesus Christ, a willingness to lead with a humble heart, a passion for Christian education, and a calling to serve at Cornerstone Christian Academy. He or she will seek to perform all duties as unto the Lord, relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance, and completing all tasks with excellence. While we welcome interest from all members of the CCA community, the ideal bus monitor is someone who is already traveling to and from school each day - such as a current staff or faculty member as there is no extra commute required. Minimum Qualifications Education
- Working Towards High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred
- Must be 16 years or older
Experience
- Prior childcare experience preferred
Certifications/Licenses
- Background check and child safety training required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work with children and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to set rules and guidelines for children to follow
- Solid organizational skills and ability to maintain a set schedule

- Must be skilled Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

- Able to stand and walk; speak and hear clearly; hand-held learning devices; reach with hands and arms; bend, stoop and twist; and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Work Hours/Travel
- Attendance at safety meetings and trainings may be required
- Able to commit to a consistent semester schedule (1-5 days/week)
Job Functions and Tasks Essential Functions
- Implement and enforce the school's disciplinary policies, dress code, and standards of behavior
- Ride the bus with CCA students in the morning and afternoon.
- Supervise students during pick-up and drop-off transitions to ensure safety and accountability
- Pray for students during each ride, and offer encouragement when appropriate
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with drivers, students, and families as needed
- Enforce CCA's bus behavior expectations with grace and consistency
- Report incidents, concerns, or injuries to school administration immediately
- Create a fun, positive environment that fosters Godly peer relationships
- Keep proper discipline for a calm and respectful environment
- Maintain emergency preparedness and safety procedures consistent with established protocols
- Represent the school in a favorable and professional manner to the school's constituency and the general public
- Treat all students with kindness and respect and continually reinforce their self-worth in Christ while equipping them with knowledge and tools needed to make positive life choices
