Title: Improvement Specialist Location: Geneva, NY Job Type: Full Time/Permanent Key Responsibilities:
  • Work Environment & Safety: Ensure a safe work environment for employees, focusing on maintaining high-quality production and optimal efficiency.
  • Risk Analysis: Conduct risk analysis of processes and job functions to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Production Management: Meet production requirements according to schedule, while coaching and mentoring operators on the floor and providing feedback during review periods to drive performance.
  • Performance Improvement: Utilize OEE data, live floor observations, and Lean process initiatives to improve operational performance in alignment with leadership goals.
  • Standardized Procedures & Work Instructions: Develop and maintain standardized production procedures and work instructions, ensuring they evolve as the business grows.
  • Process Optimization: Assess equipment and machinery layout to create an optimized workflow and improve production efficiency.
  • Documentation: Close any gaps in work instructions and SOPs for new products and equipment during their introduction or integration into the manufacturing facility.
  • Best Practices Development: Identify and implement best practices to enhance production rates and quality of output.
  • Lean Methodology: Incorporate 5S+1 methodology and Lean manufacturing systems into process improvements.
  • Cost Analysis: Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, as well as estimating future costs.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot systems, perform preventive maintenance (PMs), and manage system upgrades.
  • Quality Control: Monitor compliance with established quality and quantity specifications prior to processing and during production.
Qualifications:
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in manufacturing and process improvement, with a proven ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint and Excel, with strong reporting and analysis capabilities. General technical experience with equipment is essential.
  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire and drive teams towards common goals.
  • Self-Management: Strong ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and promote teamwork within the organization.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and practices is an advantage.
