LOCATION: Coupeville WA JOB TITLE: Youth Development Professional REPORTS TO: Unit Director, Coupeville SCHEDULE: Mon-Tues-Thurs-Fri 2:30pm-6pm, Wed 1:30pm-6pm JOB SUMMARY Come join a wonderful team of people on a mission to make a difference in our community and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Youth Development Professionals are responsible for helping to implement a variety of programs and activities that lead to three priority outcomes for youth: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. Youth Development Professionals work with youth and create an environment that is safe and fun while helping members build confidence and skills. Youth Development Professionals (YDP's) typically work approximately between 15 and 25 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plans and implements activities for youth that give them a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence, and competence, utilizing existing curriculum from Boys & Girls Clubs of America in addition to local initiatives.
  • Manages program supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of program area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to remain poised, positive, and energetic in a busy work environment.
  • Ability to incorporate organizational values of Fun, Respect, Integrity, Community, and Acceptance into all practices.
  • Prior experience working with youth preferred.
