Overview: We're looking for compassionate, patient, and dependable volunteers to serve as Special Needs Buddies in our Children's Ministry. In this role, you'll provide one-on-one or small-group support to children with varying abilities, helping them engage in worship, teaching, and activities in a safe and meaningful way. No prior experience is required—just a heart to serve and a willingness to learn!
Responsibilities:
- Support and include children with special needs in age-appropriate classroom activities
- Provide one-on-one attention and redirection as needed
- Partner with classroom leaders and parents to create a supportive environment
- Ensure each child's physical, emotional, and spiritual safety
- Follow all safety and child protection guidelines
Ideal Volunteer:
- Caring, calm, and flexible under pressure
- Enjoys working with children of all abilities
- Able to follow directions and work as part of a team
- Willing to learn strategies for inclusive support
- Can pass a background check (required)
- Willing to attend occasional training
