We're looking for a Senior Accountant - Payroll to help us ensure all accounting functions are performed utilizing best-practice methods., You will be responsible for payroll processing and benefit premium reconciliation and all related activities; these functions comprise approximately 40% of the role. In addition, you would be working with stakeholders across the organization to manage petty cash. This role works very closely with and reports to the Controller to close the general ledger each month and prepare all relevant reports. The Senior Accountant works in our Duck Creek Clinic location.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the processing of bi-weekly payroll, reconcile benefit premium deductions, and ensure timely wage payments and appropriate tax withholding.
- Manages and maintains the data for the employee retirement plan and participate on the 401(k) committee.
- Assists in closing the general ledger each month, ensuring that non-medical billing has been completed and ensuring that non-medical revenue has been recorded.
- Is responsible for assisting with certain journal entries including prepaid expenses and Fixed Assets
- Facilitates purchasing for large purchases.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or accounting preferred. Associate's degree with equivalent accounting experience and working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
- Minimum three years relevant accounting experience.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
