Job Summary Based at our Effingham IL office, the Facilities Technician mission is to help keep the building safe, clean, and running smoothly. This role supports basic maintenance tasks including minor repairs, routine inspections, and general upkeep of the facility, both inside and out. Duties may include light work on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and grounds. The Facilities Assistant also helps with vendor coordination, follows up on service appointments, and responds to maintenance requests as needed. This position is hands-on and supports day-to-day operations to ensure a safe and functional work environment. Job Responsibilities
- Provide service for all building repairs.
- Interact with management and internal customers to resolve issues as they arise.
- Handles light repairs and coordinates routine and non-routine maintenance with vendor services.
- Perform basic preventative vehicle maintenance.
- Manages and archives maintenance records and building inspection documentation.
- Responds to on-call service requests and emergency maintenance situations.
Education High School Diploma or GED required. Qualifications and Experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possession of a valid Class C Driver's License and compliance with routine DOT physical examination requirements.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair.
- Experience with building maintenance and repair.
- Basic knowledge of construction trades (Electrical, plumbing, remodeling).
- Valid driver's license with good driving record.
- Proficient in the use of electrical instruments (i.e., gauges, meters, etc.).
- Ability to read, write and use basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Basic electrical/mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, peers, managers, and across departments.
Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with equipment daily. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is exposed to moderate conditions including temperatures ranging from 30°F to 95°F.
