Respiratory Therapist Inpatient Acute Care
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our hospital-based inpatient care team in Marquette, MI. In this acute care role, you will deliver life-supporting respiratory interventions to patients across multiple inpatient units, including ICU, emergency, and medical-surgical floors. Your expertise will directly support patient stabilization, recovery, and long-term respiratory health.
Key Responsibilities: - Deliver respiratory care treatments and therapies as ordered for inpatients
- Manage ventilator-dependent patients and monitor life-support equipment
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gases and pulmonary function tests
- Respond to emergency situations such as rapid response and code blue calls
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans
- Educate patients and families on inpatient respiratory therapies and discharge instructions
- Adhere to infection control, hospital protocols, and safety standards
Qualifications: - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRC
- Current Respiratory Care license in the State of Michigan
- Acute care or critical care hospital experience preferred (new grads with strong clinical rotations encouraged to apply)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (NRP a plus)
