Student Services Specialist 1434660 * Hourly pay: $35/hr * Worksite: Leading university (Stanford, CA 94305 - Hybrid, Must be onsite 2 days a week) * W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL * 40 hours/week, 10 Month Assignment A leading university is seeking a Student Services Specialist to join our Professional Development Center. The successful candidate will make recommendations and resolve routine first-level decisions on issues related to admission, registrar services, visa services, student life, advising, career counseling, and academic services, utilizing defined policies and practices and professional expertise. Student Services Specialist Responsibilities: * Oversee, review and administer student records by analyzing data, counseling students and providing recommendations that require interpretation and influence decisions. Make exceptions on issues of eligibility, course enrollment and program requirements. * Develop recommendations and collaborate with staff, faculty and other offices to resolve programmatic issues within the school and across functional units, (such as strategizing to ensure optimal enrollment). * Provide advice to students on a range of issues, including, but not limited to, academic progress, academic program policies, career plans, accessibility, community standards, etc., to guide them in making appropriate choices and decisions. * Provide first-line response to identify students in crisis and refer to appropriate resources, as needed. Student Services Specialist Qualifications: * 2 years of experience in a further or higher education environment advising students on programs and courses, reviewing admission documents, and working with both students and faculty. * Bachelor's degree. * Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite. * Customer service skills. * Relevant computer systems/technology experience. * Understanding of financial transactions. * Ability to learn and understand compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations. Shift: * Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.
