Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership & Strategy
- Design, implement, and evaluate a cohesive vision for OST programs that aligns with Upper Room KC's mission and strategic goals.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics to assess impact, quality, and growth potential.
- Lead the development and continual improvement of curriculum, enrichment activities, and SEL frameworks.
- Serve as the primary liaison with school and district partners to ensure effective integration with school-day efforts.
Staff Management & Development
- Supervise, coach, and support site directors/coordinators and other OST staff across multiple program locations.
- Create and oversee professional development plans, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a strong, inclusive team culture focused on youth development, accountability, and innovation.
Compliance, Grants, & Budget Oversight
- Ensure all programs comply with funder requirements, licensing, and local/state/federal regulations.
- Collaborate with development staff to support grant applications and reporting (e.g., 21st CCLC, Title I).
- Develop and manage the OST departmental budget; ensure cost-effective resource allocation and sustainability.
- Maintain accurate and timely data for performance tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with parents, community-based organizations, funders, and local agencies.
- Represent OST programs in public forums, stakeholder meetings, and local initiatives.
- Lead or participate in advisory committees and collaborative networks to elevate OST programming in the region.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, nonprofit management, social work, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in OST or youth development leadership.
- Demonstrated experience supervising multi-site programs and staff.
- Proven ability to manage grants, budgets, and data systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for equity, youth empowerment, and holistic educational outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience with government-funded programs (e.g., 21st Century Community Learning Centers).
- Knowledge of Missouri/Midwest OST standards and youth-serving ecosystems.
- Experience with trauma-informed practices and culturally responsive pedagogy.
Work Environment This role requires a flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Travel between multiple program sites is expected. The role may involve standing, walking, and occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs.
