Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Opportunity Join a committed anesthesia team in a dynamic upstate New York healthcare system A well-established regional healthcare network is actively seeking full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists to join their dedicated anesthesia department. This role offers the opportunity to provide anesthesia care across multiple hospital settings, primarily based at a mid-sized community hospital with outreach to additional facilities. Position Details:
  • Primary Location: Main campus with potential to support outreach services at affiliated hospitals.
  • Scope of Practice: The CRNA will manage anesthesia care for patients of all ages across a wide variety of surgical specialties. Typical cases include obstetrics, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, healthy pediatrics, outpatient procedures, and occasionally thoracic, trauma, and regional anesthesia cases. Responsibilities also include performing lumbar epidural catheter insertions, spinal anesthesia, and selective nerve blocks such as axillary brachial plexus blocks. Other anesthesia-related procedures and intraoperative assistance may be required as needed.
  • Skills Required: Proficiency with labor epidurals is essential. Comfort with central line placement is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Practice Model: A hybrid model combining independent practice and care team collaboration with anesthesiologists. Cases range from fully supervised to independent, offering significant clinical autonomy.
  • Typical Work Hours: Operating room hours are generally 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The CRNA schedule blends 24-hour call shifts with 8-hour day shifts, totaling approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Department Composition: The anesthesia team consists of approximately 6 full-time anesthesiologists, 9 full-time CRNAs, 1 part-time CRNA, and 3 anesthesia technicians.
  • Call Requirements: Call rotation is approximately 1:9. CRNAs cover first call Sunday through Friday and second call on Saturdays, with the day following first call off.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Base Salary: $305,000 annually
  • Signing Bonus: Negotiable
  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $7,500
  • Licensing & Dues Reimbursement: $1,000 annually
  • Continuing Medical Education (CME): $2,000 per year
  • Paid Time Off: 376 hours annually

Compensation Summary: The salary range reflects current market expectations for full-time CRNA roles but may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
