Pay Information $1,744 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Safe medication administration including calculation of medications Administer medications and EMB using the five patient rights Appropriate handling of EMB Care of patients with NG/OG tubes Follow feeding orders and recommendations from OT/ST Care of patients on CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and Nasal Cannula Care for patients with PIVs, PICCs, UACs/UVCs Safely care for patients 22 weeks and above Understanding of the use of all equipment in the NICU Promote safe sleeping practices at 32-34 weeks gestation Demonstrate developmentally appropriate care when handling preterm infants Proficient in lab draws Knowledgeable in escalating patient concerns and NAS scoring Description: This is a NICU nursing role with a focus on providing high-quality care to neonates. The unit has 42 beds and a diverse staff of 103, ensuring support for various patient needs. Patient ratios are typically 2:1 for Level 3 patients and 3:1 for Level 2 patients. Necessary equipment includes radiant warmers, isolettes, syringe pumps, and more. The nurse will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Typical procedures include intubations, UAC/UVC placement, eye exams, and lab draws. Ideal candidates are team players who are open to feedback and contribute positively to the unit culture. Candidates with experience in ETTs, vents, and surgical patients are preferred. The role involves occasional floating to the Mother Baby unit, managing infants only.
