Overview In conjunction with the Associate Director of Club Sports/Facilities, manage the daily operations of the team. This is a part-time temporary position, hours ranging from 5-15 hours a week based on the sport team's schedule. Salary range $3,000 - $4,000 per semester. Duties and Responsibilities Club sport coaches provide vital oversight of student participating in their designated sport. Coaches enforce risk management strategies during practices and competitions. They accompany team members while participating off campus. Coaches assist with the development of student leaders while serving as a role model/mentor. Coaches assist with enforcement of team and department policies. Ensure a fair and unbiased tryout for all eligible students and cut rosters to manageable size, which can be difficult for students to do with their peers. Must be present at 2-3 practices per week and all on/off campus competitions. Implement risk management strategies to ensure students are participating in a safe environment. Be knowledgeable of all current rules regulations, and policies of designated sport. Manage all practices/competitions including teaching of proper techniques/strategies, creating agendas, implementing drills, managing playing time etc.. Education and Experience Prior coaching experience preferred, not required. Certified in CPR, AED and first aid preferred.
