This full-time position offers an engaging opportunity to deliver high-quality preventive and therapeutic oral healthcare in a patient-centered environment that also provides broader support services to underserved populations. Position Summary The Dental Hygienist plays a critical role in providing direct patient care, preventive education, and periodontal treatment services. Working collaboratively with the dentist and clinical team, you will perform thorough assessments, radiographs, cleanings, and scaling procedures while fostering a welcoming and informed environment for all patients. Core Responsibilities
- Conduct complete intra-oral and extra-oral examinations and comprehensive dental assessments
- Obtain and review medical and dental histories, including follow-up with external providers when necessary
- Perform prophylaxis, polishing, root scaling, and planing procedures
- Take and evaluate dental radiographs based on patient need and protocols
- Provide educational resources and personalized oral hygiene instructions
- Consult with the attending dentist on findings and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions in the patient chart
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and sterilization standards
- Assist with lab-related duties and patient scheduling support when needed
- Participate in clinic activities that enhance care delivery and support team performance
Qualifications & RequirementsRequired Education & Licensure:
- Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Massachusetts Dental Hygienist License - Required
- Current CPR Certification - Required
Skills & Competencies:
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail for precision care
- Empathetic patient communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Dentrix or equivalent dental software
- Physical stamina for standing and clinical tasks during full shifts
- Ability to multitask and contribute in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical setting
