Job Title: Assistant Principal Location: Lynchburg, VA 24502 Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday) Salary: Based on education and experience. Your Role as an Assistant Principal
  • Staff & School Operations Support - Assist in supervising staff and daily school operations, ensuring adherence to school policies and procedures.
  • Documentation Oversight - Ensure proper maintenance of educational and counseling records.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Support scheduling and program development aligned with VDOE regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Student Support & Programming - Oversee treatment planning and support appropriate class placements based on assessments.
  • Curriculum & Resources - Provide guidance on curriculum development and ensure access to necessary materials and equipment.
  • Family & Community Communication - Report student progress to special education directors, parents, and community partners.
  • Transportation Oversight - Support transportation scheduling, safety, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Agency Collaboration - Coordinate with outside agencies to enhance student services
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Special Education and/or School Administration with Supervision Endorsement.
  • Minimum of three years working with students with disabilities.
  • One year of administrative experience in a special education setting (preferred).
  • Valid or eligible VDOE Postgraduate Professional Teaching License with endorsement in School Administration & Supervision or Special Education.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License.
  • Mandt certification.
