Location: Naval Construction Training Center (NCTC), Gulfport, MS Clearance: Eligible for Secret Clearance Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 0700-1600 (flexible start times between 0600-1800 with COR approval) Telework: Not authorized Travel: Occasional travel to associated Learning Sites (Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Sheppard AFB, TX; Woolmarket, MS) Position Overview: Nalu Federal seeks an experienced and proactive IT Support Specialist to provide Information Technology services at NCTC Gulfport and its associated Learning Sites. This position primarily serves as the Activity Contract Technical Representative (ACTR) and NMCI Liaison, supporting the Electronic Classrooms (ECRs), TRANET systems, and local network infrastructure. The role requires technical knowledge of asset management, network security, collaborative platforms, and IT procurement within the Department of Defense environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management: Process all NMCI, TRANET, WiFi, MDM, SharePoint, and MS Teams user requests.
- Asset Management: Manage lifecycle of hardware/software assets; assist in upgrades and standard maintenance per NETC/NMCI procedures.
- Inventory Control: Perform bi-annual inventory of IT assets; track hardware, software, and peripheral devices; maintain NETC inventory databases.
- Network Security: Submit and track SAARs; support mitigation of IA violations and enforce access controls.
- Mobile Device Management: Oversee site mobility support, device configurations, updates, and compliance.
- Collaborative Systems: Update and maintain SharePoint sites, digital signage, and other collaborative platforms.
- Help Desk Coordination: Submit and manage support tickets with NMCI Help Desk and NETC NMCI PMO; track resolution.
- IT Procurement: Submit ITPRs and PRs for IT purchases; conduct market research and collect procurement documents.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot user issues, perform device repair/configuration, and coordinate remote NMCI maintenance tasks.
- Meetings & Reporting: Represent IT at NETC/NMCI meetings, staff briefings, and act as liaison for local and enterprise issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Must qualify as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II.
- CompTIA Security+ CE certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Minimum 20 CEUs annually to maintain certification.
- Strong knowledge of NMCI infrastructure, MS Office 365, SharePoint, and DOD cybersecurity protocols.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Must climb step ladders and work in confined spaces to access IT hardware.
Work Environment:
- Primarily indoor office setting, with occasional work outdoors or in varied environmental conditions.
