Purpose and role of job: Responsible for operating more than one type of machine within the production process in a safe, competent, efficient, and productive manner. Contributes to successful completion of team tasks, goals, and expectations.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities: - Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
- Performs safety inspection of assigned machinery at the start of each shift.
- Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations/guidelines.
- Completes machine operator training as required by the Pay-for-Skills program.
- Keeps a current logbook on machine operation, troubleshooting, and changeovers.
- Maintains quality standards for the product being produced.
- Ensures proper raw materials are in use.
- Keeps the machine and the surrounding area clean.
- Assists maintenance personnel with troubleshooting as required.
- Assists with the training of other employees.
- Completes all necessary paperwork properly.
- Operates assigned machine competently and productively.
- Records appropriate information to enable batch-to-batch traceability.
- Follows instructions of the Team Leader or Supervisor.
- Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
Education and experience requirements: - Fundamental knowledge of a computer or willingness to learn.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot process problems and determine corrective action.
- Ability to communicate orally and written.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
