Job Description: As a Sales Assistant at Steven Singer Jewelers, you will play a vital role in supporting our sales team and ensuring a seamless customer experience. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers, managing phone inquiries, placing orders, maintaining inventory, handling repairs and cleanings, and contributing to the overall operations of our physical location.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their inquiries, purchases, and special requests.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing customer inquiries, taking messages, and forwarding calls to the appropriate team members.
  • Assist with placing orders for customers, ensuring accurate product information, pricing, and delivery details are communicated effectively.
  • Maintain and organize inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels, proper display, and regular updates.
  • Coordinate and track repairs and cleanings, liaising with customers and our in-house jeweler to ensure timely and quality services.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and maintaining customer records.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to meet individual and store-wide sales targets, contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Help set up store displays to ensure they present the product in an eye-catching way.
  • Stay updated with product knowledge, industry trends, and company promotions to effectively communicate information to customers. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to security, confidentiality, and ethical sales practices.

Requirements:

  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in a retail or jewelry environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage customers and build positive relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency in handling phone calls and managing inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to work Weekends and a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong team player, capable of collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of jewelry and gemstones is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Working Hours: This is a full-time position that requires availability on Weekends.
