Overview Provide advising and support services to the schools of Arts & Science, Nursing & Health Sciences, and Education & Social Work working closely with faculty and staff and monitoring approved program affiliates to ensure students receive quality and accurate advising for their study abroad experiences. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support students from the application process to their return to the college, including but not limited to program selection, application support, funding opportunities, course selection in conjunction with campus stakeholders, visa assistance, etc. Plan pre-departure/re-entry sessions for study abroad students with CGE staff and campus stakeholders, including the Global Ambassador Program. Troubleshoot/resolve student issues and refer these to the dean when necessary. (35%)
  • Provide study abroad outreach through study abroad fairs, info sessions, social media, email blasts, etc.., in conjunction with other stakeholders such as Admission, faculty-led program directors, third-party representatives, etc. for the purpose of educating students and the campus community about study abroad opportunities available to PC students - semester-long, faculty-led, and summer programs. Manage recruitment and advising for CIV in London and Education in Florence/Belfast with faulty directors/academic departments. (20%)
  • Maintain regular communication with assigned programs to ensure that program information, especially course availability, is updated and communicate program updates to CGE staff and campus stakeholders. Coordinate communication and tracking for assigned faculty-led programs. Ensure web pages for assigned programs are accurate and up to date. Prepare rosters for customized programs and keep affiliates updated on enrollments. Generate reports related to programs and enrollments. (20%)
  • Manage student files related to international student services, maintain the international student roster, and organize international student orientation in conjunction with relevant stakeholders. Plan and execute events for international students in conjunction with CGE staff. Serve as the designated school official (DSO) to update student records in SEVIS and provide travel signatures. (15%)
  • Represent CGE on the International Programs Advisory Committee (IPAC) and International Student Advisory Group (ISAG). Attend CGE staff meetings and ad hoc meetings with campus stakeholders. Perform other CGE related duties as assigned. (10%)
  • MARGINAL DUTIES:
  • Perform all other duties as may be required.
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required, preferably in Global/language studies. Master's Degree preferred.
    • Three to five years' experience working with college students or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, Word Press or similar, and social media platforms.
    • Basic to intermediate proficiency with Simplicity Horizons, Ellucian Banner, and CANVAS.
    • Experience with student-centered approach to advising, program/course selection, cultural adjustments, problem-solving and the ability to deal with parental involvement.
    • Ability to work closely with multiple constituents (faculty/staff), identify new opportunities for collaboration with relevant stakeholders, and form relationships across campus.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills that facilitate student services/support, teamwork, and problem-solving.
    • Strong presentation development delivery skills
    • An ability to support students' cultural adjustments and problem-solving in the context of another culture.
    • Experience working with third-party affiliates and how these organizations serve students and colleges/universities.
    • Valid driver's license required.
    • Travel, both domestic and international required.
    • Occasional nights and weekends are required.
