Job Description :

The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for a position within the NFS Agriculture Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program through a grant administered program which provides support to the U.S. Forest Service (NFS). Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will also be required to undergo a federal security background check. Role and Responsibilities: Provides expertise in pavement condition assessments, geospatial data management, and analysis using specialized software systems. This role also involves sharing knowledge with field personnel and supporting consistent application of technical standards. Duties include:

  • Collect and document road network data, including segment lengths, parking areas, and boat ramps.
  • Perform pavement condition assessments in accordance with ASTM D6433.
  • Maintain and update PAVER pavement management databases and associated GIS shapefiles.
  • Analyze pavement condition data to support prioritization of maintenance and reconstruction efforts.
  • Develop reports and recommendations based on data findings.
  • Collaborate with field personnel to ensure consistent data practices.
Qualifications and Education Requirements: Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States; able to pass a Federal Background check; minimum of 10 years' experience and BA/BS degree in Civil, Environmental or Agricultural Engineering. Experience working with pavement management systems, specifically PAVER, is essential. Proficiency with GIS tools and the ability to manage geospatial datasets is required. Familiarity with pavement distress identification and rating using ASTM D6433. Ability to analyze pavement condition data and develop practical recommendations for maintenance and reconstruction. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Travel to field sites is required as part of the data collection and assessment process. Hours & Compensation: Part-Time position working up to 30 hours per week @ $30.00.
