As a lead, you'll oversee the collection, handling, and processing of patient samples, while being a team leader and mentor. Pay Range: $45,000 - $55,000/year Schedule: Day Shift, Flexible
Lead Phlebotomist Responsibilities: - Oversee the phlebotomy team, including scheduling shifts, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance
- Serve as a resource to phlebotomy and reception staff
- Coordinate workflow to ensure timely collection of specimens
- Monitor sick call pager and adjust placements accordingly
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood samples
- Assist with difficult draws and serve as a technical expert for all collection procedures
- Ensure proper collection of research kits and other special procedures
Lead Phlebotomist Qualifications: - Registration by the College of American Pathologists as a PBT, or the equivalent, is desired
- Current BCLS certification required within 30 days of hire
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with clinical staff and ensure patient continuity of care
