Position Overview: We're seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead frontend development initiatives using modern web technologies, particularly Svelte and TypeScript. This role will be instrumental in architecting and delivering high-performance web applications while mentoring team members and establishing technical standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop sophisticated frontend solutions using Svelte, TypeScript, and related modern web technologies
- Lead the technical direction of frontend development practices and establish coding standards
- Mentor and guide development teams while fostering a culture of engineering excellence
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline deployment processes
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements and solutions
- Drive technical decision-making for frontend architecture and technology selection
- Contribute to system design and architecture discussions across multiple teams
- Implement best practices for testing, performance optimization, and accessibility
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software development experience
- 8+ years of experience with modern frontend frameworks (Svelte, React, or Vue)
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript
- Extensive experience with DevOps practices and tools (Git, Docker, k8s, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines)
- Proven track record of leading complex technical projects
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong understanding of web performance optimization and security best practices
- Excellence in technical communication and documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Svelte and SvelteKit
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and solutions
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Startup and business value driven mindset
- History of contributing to open-source projects
- Experience with real-time applications and WebSocket implementations
