The Role FreshDirect is seeking a highly motivated intern to join our Merchandising Team this summer for a paid internship. What You'll Do The right candidate will be someone who: • Has a passion for food and is interested in learning about the food industry • Makes friends quickly and easily • Learning new systems just as quickly • Has tenacious follow-up and can keep projects on task What You Bring • The Non-Perishable Merchandising Intern will split their time across • Work closely with vendors and major distributors to gather and organize data for new product set-up • Support the team with storefront management, site merchandising and product info accuracy • Support the team in recapping Shopper Marketing campaigns for the participating vendor partners • Engage with Merchandising Teams on periodic Category and Brand reviews • Must be based in NYC and available to work in the office five days per week. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:The ideal candidate should possess: • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large data sets • A willingness to think creatively and take calculated risks Responsibilities: • Support visual merchandising initiatives including recipe development and content creation • Analysis of pricing actions and other promotional activities • Work closely with Operations to track and fix pressing challenges • Support health and sustainability initiatives including product traceability, food waste, and packaging projects Education and Qualifications: • In pursuit of a BA/BS with a demonstrated interest in the food industry, merchandising, or eCommerce • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large data sets • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills • A willingness to think creatively and take calculated risks • An ability to adapt to new systems and scenarios quickly • Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture What we Offer • The expected compensation for this role is $23.00 -$ 25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
