Per G.S. 126-5 (c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7. Registered Nurses are needed at Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (LMNTC). This posting is for multiple RN vacancies on various floors and shifts at Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center. The Registered Nurse is an integral part of the nursing team, which serves to provide an interdisciplinary approach to the care planning process of our residents. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Identifying and assessing residents needs/nursing/health needs.
  • Administering medications as directed by physicians.
  • Working closely with the medical staff to provide quality medical care.
  • Serving as charge nurse , overseeing daily nursing care, consisting of coordinating all licensed and non-licensed staff duties in accordance with Board of Nursing delegation and responsibilities

  • Knowledge of medications and the physiological effect of those medications.
  • Ability to assist in the full range of nursing care to patients/residents with physical and/or behavioral problems in a long-term care setting under the direction of charge nurse.
  • Ability to recognize and react to emergent patient/resident care situations and intervene while waiting for assistance. For example, recognizing need for basic life support, controlling bleeding and assisting with behavior crisis, etc.
