As a Cisco network engineer, you will be responsible for installing Cisco networks, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining security. The candidate must have extensive experience with network, security and wireless installations. Ultimately, A Cisco Network Engineer designs, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots Cisco-based networks, ensuring optimal performance and security, and collaborating with other IT professionals within the County. Preferences:
- Plan, design, and implement Cisco network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues, monitor network performance, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Work with other IT professionals and stakeholders to understand network requirements and implement solutions.
- Stay up to date with the latest Cisco technologies and best practices.
- At least 5 years of Cisco networking experience.
- B.S. Degree in an Information Technology field
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, wireless, and security.
- Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) are highly valued.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work effectively with other IT professionals and stakeholders.
- Relevant experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Cisco networks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate equally well with the user community and internal ITS staff.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment and deliver assigned projects within established time, scope, and budget parameters.
