We look forward to hearing from you!POSITION SUMMARY: The Girl Scouts of Western New York (GSWNY) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven cross-functional Membership Support Specialist to support two core operational areas: volunteer experience, and product program (cookie sales). This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and relationship builder who thrives in a fast-paced, community-focused environment. The Membership Support Specialist provides essential frontline service and logistical support to volunteers, caregivers, and staff across key program areas. The role is seasonal with the summers off (June through August). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Product Program
  • Support Cookie Cupboard preparation, order reconciliation and distribution logistics.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide guidance related to the Cookie Program via phone, email, or in person.
Volunteer Support
  • Support volunteer training and events (virtual and in-person) to ensure volunteers can be successful in carrying out our mission.
  • Troubleshoot volunteer concerns and help foster a supportive community.
  • Monitor troop health and support sustainable growth and retention strategies.
Administrative & Follow-Up
  • Process Product Program payments.
  • Follow up with volunteers to guide them through the Girl Scout journey.
  • Assist with assembling and distributing girl and leader's resources and materials.
  • Monitor and answer inquiries within the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
  • Support the Council's strategic goals, mission, and ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging as an active and engaged member of the GSWNY staff team and community.

  • Girl Scouts is proud to serve a diverse community of girls and volunteers. Bilingual language skills or proficiency in one or more non-English language is always appreciated, though not required.
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in or equivalent experience in non-profit management, recruitment, project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort learning new database/CRM tools.
  • Must be able to travel locally within the Buffalo/ Niagara region and work evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the position to conduct Council business; and
  • If travel is required, must possess a valid driver's license, meet minimum state auto insurance requirements, and meet the insurance carrier's requirements for coverage.
HOURS & TRAVEL:
  • September through May (June-August off)
  • 20-25 hours per week Tuesday - Thursday; nights and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and set up materials for event booths.

This membership must be renewed annually, and all newly hired employees are expected to enroll with GSWNY within the first 30 days of their employment.
