Summary: Provides advanced analysis and reporting to identify and monitor various clinical and financial indicators, including medical and pharmacy services, which leads to improvement in utilization, financial, and quality outcomes. Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and summarize findings clearly, both in verbal and written presentations. Formal Education Required: a. Bachelor degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Accounting, or Computer/Information Science, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Experience & Training Required: a. Two (2) years of experience to include data analysis, report development, data visualization, statistical reporting, data mining, and programming using SQL or other scripting languages. Essential Functions: The following essential functions will be carried out in a manner fully consistent with the Summa mission, values and philosophies. 1. Develops reports, provides analytical support, monitors critical clinical and financial indicators, and makes recommendations that promote increased health plan performance. 2. Provides data summarization, visualization, and presentation to support business programs and reporting, adhering to standards of quality, integrity, and accuracy. 3. Researches data requirements and performs data modeling and development support for routine and non-routine reports. 4. Consults with HSM management staff regarding information analysis, presentation, problem identification and solutions. 5. Consults with HSM end users and IT team to develop, enhance, refine, and test applications built in house or by 3rd party vendors. 6. Works closely with HSM staff and IT area on best practices for data resource management and reporting. 7. Coordinates with IT staff on support issues, installation or upgrades for new releases, troubleshooting user connectivity and maintenance of software applications utilized in HSM. 8. Performs all job functions with integrity. Provides timely internal and external customer service in cooperative, professional, and respectful manner. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: a. Technical Specific Competency with Microsoft Tools: i. SQL Server Management Studio (Transact-SQL, Stored Procedures) ii. SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). iii. SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) iv. Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) b. Technical Specific Competency with Analytic/Predictive Modeling software. c. Technical Specific Competency with business intelligence interactive data visualization products such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI. d. Strong analytical aptitude and critical thinking to analyze cost and utilization trends in order to identify opportunities for improvement. e. Effective interface with all staff levels. Ability to explain complex, technical concepts to lay audiences and non-IT staff. f. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on process documentation. g. Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification. h. Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. Level of Physical Demands: a. Be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. b. Manual dexterity to operate computer, phone and standard office machines. c. Lift up to 25 pounds. d. Ability to bend, stoop, and stretch. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
