We're seeking a proactive IT Specialist to keep our technology running smoothly and support our team's productivity. Position Overview: The IT Specialist will coordinate with external vendors, manage our hardware and software environments, and provide front-line support to employees. You'll deploy and maintain workstations and virtual machines, administer user accounts, troubleshoot issues, and drive process improvements through automation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor & MSP Liaison
    • Serve as primary point of contact for our Managed Service Providers
    • Submit, track, and follow up on tickets to ensure SLA compliance
  • Hardware & Software Management
    • Maintain inventories of hardware assets, software licenses, and renewals
    • Configure and deploy desktops, laptops, and virtual machines (VMs)
    • Roll out software installations, updates, and manage license assignments
  • User Account Administration
    • Create and manage Office 365 and Deltek user accounts, groups, and security agents
    • Participate in new-hire onboarding: network overview, core applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, network, and peripheral issues
    • Escalate specialized software problems to third-party tech support (Autodesk, Bentley, Leica, PTC, etc.)
  • Infrastructure & Cloud Services
    • Administer on-premises servers, AWS instances, and remote desktop environments
    • Assist with IP addressing, modem configuration, and provisioning VMs on THOR
  • Process Improvement & Automation
    • Develop and refine workflows using Power Automate, Office 365 Apps, and SharePoint
    • Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance efficiency
  • Communication & Training
    • Publish weekly Tech Tip emails to share best practices
    • Conduct periodic walk-throughs with department heads to proactively identify IT needs
  • Purchasing & Inventory Optimization
    • Source and recommend cost-effective equipment purchases (e.g., via Slickdeals)
    • Support regular audits of technology assets and lifecycle planning
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Maintain SharePoint libraries and technical documentation
    • Complete assigned e-learning courses (e.g., Deltek) and ensure adherence to IT policies
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years' experience in IT support, system administration, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Office 365 administration, and Active Directory
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and AWS fundamentals
  • Familiarity with Power Automate, SharePoint Online, and basic scripting
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently
Preferred:
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified
  • Exposure to AEC-industry software (Autodesk, Bentley, Deltek, PTC)
  • Experience with IoT devices and remote desktop services
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum
