- We're seeking an experienced DevOps engineer to own the build-and-run lifecycle of our cloud-native applications and data pipelines on Microsoft Azure.
- You'll design and codify infrastructure, craft resilient GitHub Actions workflows, and champion security, observability, and automation across multiple engineering teams.
- Deep Azure expertise is essential; familiarity with AWS or GCP is a welcome bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Secure Cloud Architecture - Design, provision, and manage Azure resources (AKS, Container Apps, Functions, Storage, Cosmos DB, etc.) with Terraform and GitOps, embedding security controls such as private endpoints, Key Vault-backed secrets, encryption-in-transit/at-rest, and Azure Policy.
- Container Platform Operations - Run production-grade Kubernetes (AKS) clusters; enforce hardened Docker images, network policies, PodSecurityStandards, and RBAC.
- CI/CD & Release Automation - Build and maintain scalable GitHub Actions pipelines for application and data workloads; integrate security scanning, automated testing, and blue-green or canary deployments.
- Data & Streaming Pipelines - Partner with data-engineering teams to containerise and deploy ETL/ELT workflows and real-time streaming services on Azure with secure service-to-service authentication.
- Observability & Reliability - Implement OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana to deliver actionable metrics, traces, and alerts; use SLOs and error budgets to improve MTTR.
- DevSecOps & Compliance - Embed policy-as-code, secret management, image signing, SBOM generation, and least-privilege IAM to meet SOC 2 / ISO 27001 or similar requirements.
- Collaboration & Mentoring - Coach developers and data engineers on Terraform modules, GitOps, pipeline patterns, and secure coding practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- 6-7 years in DevOps, SRE, or Build-and-Release roles with production ownership of cloud-native workloads.
- Expert-level hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (AKS, networking, IAM, scaling, cost management).
- Deep knowledge of Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker; proven ability to design reusable IaC modules and enforce container security standards.
- Demonstrated success building sophisticated GitHub Actions pipelines (matrix builds, reusable workflows, environment promotion) with integrated security scanning.
- Strong monitoring and tracing skills with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting for automation and tooling.
- Solid understanding of cloud security: Azure AD, Key Vault, managed identities, network security groups, encryption strategies, and least-privilege access controls.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for partnering with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AWS or GCP services.
- Experience operating data platforms such as Kafka, Spark, Databricks, or Azure Synapse.
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Policy tools ( OPA/Gatekeeper, Azure Policy) or service meshes (Istio, Linkerd).
- Generative AI experience-building or deploying LLM/AI workloads (e.g., Azure OpenAI, OpenAI API, Hugging Face) and integrating them into secure CI/CD pipelines.
- Certifications like Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, CKA, or CKS.
