Position Overview: The MRI/CT Technologist at OrthoArkansas plays a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging across both MRI and CT modalities. This position is responsible for performing scans according to physician orders and protocols while ensuring a smooth, compassionate experience for every patient. You'll work closely with radiologists, providers, and the clinical team to provide timely and accurate imaging that supports excellent orthopedic care. Key Responsibilities:
  • Imaging and Patient Care
  • Perform high-quality CT and MRI scans for diagnostic and surgical planning purposes.
  • Set technical parameters and position patients accurately to ensure optimal imaging outcomes.
  • Administer contrast injections when required and monitor patients for comfort and safety.
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients, ensuring clarity and reducing anxiety.
  • Evaluate scans for technical quality and transfer images to the reading radiology group.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance
  • Operate and maintain CT and MRI equipment, performing routine quality assurance checks.
  • Report any equipment issues promptly to facilitate timely maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized imaging suite, following all infection control and safety protocols.
  • Patient Support and Departmental Collaboration
  • Assist patients before, during, and after imaging procedures with compassion and professionalism.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and team members to ensure smooth workflow and patient care continuity.
  • Adhere to compliance standards and collaborate with staff to maintain efficient operations.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support team goals and operations.
  • Qualifications:Education & Experience:
    • Associate's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or related field from an accredited program.
    • 6 months of relevant experience preferred in CT and/or MRI imaging.
    • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and radiologic techniques.
    Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • ARRT certification
    • State licensure
    • CT and MRI registry (at least one at time of hire; second must be obtained within one year)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    Preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Dual certification in CT and MRI by ARRT
    • Advanced imaging certification or specialization relevant to orthopedic care
    Skills & Abilities:
    • Proficient in MRI and CT imaging software and workflows.
    • Strong communication skills to effectively support patients and collaborate with providers.
    • Ability to multitask and troubleshoot in a fast-paced clinical environment.
    • Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work area.
    Software Skills:
    • Advanced: CT/MRI imaging platforms
    • Intermediate: Electronic Health Records (EHR), PACS systems
    • Basic: Microsoft Office Suite, compliance software
