Imaging Interventional/Radiology RN/Vascular Access PICC RN This is a professional position responsible for the coordination of outpatient and inpatient services for Cayuga Medical Center Imaging Services. This position will be responsible to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate services provided for patients. This position is dynamic and requires the RN to function as a procedural nurse as well as support the clinical needs of all patients that utilize Imaging services at Main Campus, East Campus and Cayuga Park Campus. This person is responsible for linking the hospital and physicians by providing services for inpatients and outpatients. These services include but are not limited to preadmission nursing assessments, testing, care, and coordinating these inpatient and outpatient procedures with the physicians and/or other groups as appropriate. The Radiology Nurse works autonomously and must be capable of fostering exceptional teamwork across multiple teams simultaneously. This position is responsible for placing ultrasound-guided peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC), Midline and Peripheral intravenous catheters. The Imaging RN promotes quality patient care by establishing and monitoring standards of care. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain emergency readiness through daily, weekly and monthly emergency equipment includes; Adult Crash Cart, Pediatric Broslow Cart, Narcotic Reversal Boxes, Contrast Reaction Boxes and emergency airway supplies in all patient care areas.
- Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure nursing care; includes invasive Imaging procedure nursing for Interventional Radiology, CT guided biopsies, MRI guided biopsies, and Ultrasound guided biopsies. Pre-procedure nursing care includes pre-appointment screening calls with education, day of IV access, blood sampling, pre-assessments, and patient education. Post-procedure nursing care includes post assessments, post sedation monitoring, medication managements, patient education, and discharge. Inter-procedure care include medication administration and monitoring of moderate sedation care throughout the procedure according to the ACLS guidelines.
- The Interventional/Radiology RN provides MRI cardiac monitoring during MRI exams for patients with a pacemaker.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Education- Bachelors or Associates of Applied Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Licensure- Current NYS Nursing License, ACLS accreditation, BLS accreditation
- Experience- Minimum of 1 year critical care/procedural nurse experience required. Vascular access experience preferred. Strong IV skills required.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Graduate of an Accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Physical: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., Use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.

- Cayuga Medical Center Main Campus is the home base for this position. Radiology has RN's at the East Campus and Cayuga Park location that occasionally require coverage.
Pay Range Disclosure:
- $35.63 to $44.18 per hour
