As a DoD Travel Systems and Programs Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing functional, operational, and sustainability support expertise to ensure the success of government and commercial travel systems and programs.   • Evaluate travel system demands in coordination with customer representatives and stakeholders.
  • Analyze trends in reported issues, provide recommendations for resolutions, and suggest improvements to travel systems and processes.
  • Draft comprehensive project plans, charters, and scope documents for travel-related projects.
  • Transform stakeholder requirements into logical business and technical views, ensuring alignment with DoD travel regulations and policies.
  • Manage requirements, issue reporting, and escalation processes to ensure smooth operations and problem resolution.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on government and commercial travel programs, including the Government Air Program, Rental Car, Bus, and Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) Programs.
  • Collect, standardize, and report data to support the Defense Travel Management Office (DTMO) in managing commercial travel data and applications.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics and trend analyses to monitor and improve travel program effectiveness.
  • Offer support for Global Distribution Systems (e.g., Sabre, Worldspan) and online booking tools.
  • Utilize DoD Travel Best Practices, Business Rules, and Configuration Management (CM) Tool software applications to ensure system functionality and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University.
  • Proven experience evaluating travel system demands and transforming stakeholder requirements in government or industry roles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DoD travel systems functionality, regulations, and government and commercial travel programs.
  • Experience with Agile project management methodologies and the ability to develop and track performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve travel system issues.
  • Knowledge of CTIMS Reporting or similar systems for managing and reporting travel data.
