As a Retail Pharmacist, you play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of both prescription and non-prescription medications. Key Responsibilities
- Enter, fill, and verify patient orders for accuracy.
- Check dosages, ensuring correct and safe supply and labeling of medications.
- Counsel patients on how to take their medications, potential side effects, and address any queries they may have.
- Supervise the preparation of medications and review prescription orders for appropriateness.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care plans.
- Sell over-the-counter medications and provide advice on minor ailments.
- Dispense prescription medications to customers while maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Manage inventory, ensuring safe storage and adherence to safety measures.
- Oversee pharmacy staff and daily operations to ensure efficient service.
- Keep detailed and up-to-date records of patient prescriptions.
- Monitor patient health in relation to drug therapy outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all local and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accurate medication dispensing.
- Availability to work 1-2 days weekly, with willingness to cover full-time pharmacist shifts during PTO or sick leave.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid pharmacy license in Illinois or be eligible for licensure.
- Proven experience as a pharmacist with in-depth knowledge of drug compounding, dosage administration, and medical brands.
- Proficient knowledge of pharmacy law, medical terminology, and pharmacy software (e.g., RX30, CPSI).
- Strong organizational and exceptional communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Integrity and compassion when interacting with patients.
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharmacology.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs.
- Capability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Repetitive movement and some physical bending required.
