Job DetailsJob Location Hauppauge, NY Salary Range $18.17 - $23.29 Hourly DescriptionGeneral Purpose of the Job Community Employment services including job development, assessments, intensive skills and all related employment training, and follow along services necessary to maintain community employment for participants with disabilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Directs service to individuals served including job readiness, assessment, job analysis, job matching, specific job skills training, psychosocial work behaviors, vocational evaluations, situational assessments, and group workshop/seniors.
  • Instructs in all areas needed to obtain and maintain community employment, including but not limited to, grooming, travel, social security issues, and job restructuring and job accommodations.
  • Directs service to employers, including ADA information, co-worker training, tax incentives for employers, and instruction and transference for natural supports at the work site and in the community. May include professional presentations.
  • Coordinates and facilitate entire life-skills areas for community-employed participant, including social/recreational, self-advocacy, and financial/budgeting, residential as per regulatory agency standards. This includes community employment support groups and liaisons such as service coordinators and other community resources. On-going for extended participants. May require early evening meetings.
  • Responsible for writing of daily logs and required reports, including specific tracking of hours, dates of services and other requirements of monthly reports, includes computer data input.
  • Coordination and meetings with other staff, participant's family, employer, sponsoring agency, counselors and other agencies/businesses and services as needed.
  • Flexible hours to fit into participant's community integrated training and placements. Will include various work environments in the community.
  • Use of own vehicle to travel to and from community sites to fulfill essential functions of job.
  • Adherence to all regulatory requirements of ACCES-VR, OPWDD,, Aging policy/procedures, HIPPA, agency ethics & corporate compliance.
  • Attends all required meetings and training.
  • May be required to assist in other departmental functions.
  • Qualifications Minimum Bachelors Degree from a 4 year college or University in a related field and one to there years related experience or (5 years exact job experience and/or certification in career/employment can be substituted). Experience in business/industry preferred and/or vocational rehabilitation in adults. Clean and Valid NYS Driver's License required. Current First Aide Certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
