Job Description - Oversee day-to-day activities across the entire program lifecycle to ensure steady progress.
- Guide cross-functional teams-including engineering, manufacturing, and quality-to ensure seamless project coordination.
- Establish program goals, define scope, and put governance structures in place to monitor progress and control changes.
- Build and maintain comprehensive project schedules with clear timelines, budgets, resource allocations, and milestones; monitor progress against these plans.
- Proactively identify risks early in the process and implement mitigation plans to minimize impact.
- Manage and align multiple interrelated projects, including oversight of subcontractors, their deliverables, contracts, and budgets when applicable.
- Maintain key documentation such as project charters, systems requirements, design reviews, readiness assessments, and final data packages.
- Collaborate with quality teams to resolve any technical or quality-related issues quickly and effectively.
- Serve as the primary communication link between customers, internal teams, and senior leadership.
- Provide regular updates on program performance, potential risks, and outstanding issues to all stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with customers by managing expectations and ensuring consistent, transparent communication.

The Successful Applicant Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Optical, Imaging Science, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (other engineering disciplines will be considered)
Minimum Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in project management including planning, execution, and monitoring is required
- Proven ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams, manage conflicts, and ensure effective collaboration
- Strong technical background in optical or aerospace engineering, including understanding of engineering principles, typical lifecycle for aerospace programs, and familiarity with aerospace industry standards
- Ability to manage and track project requirements, ensuring they are clearly defined, documented, and met
- Understanding of project budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability and interest to learn new disciplines, skills, and processes
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
